**REGISTRATION IS OPEN TO THE FIRST 15 PARTICIPANTS**

Workshop Fee = $20.00 for two-days

 

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

  • Introduction to small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS, a.k.a. "drones") and how and when to register them with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Preparation to take the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate sUAS rating airman knowledge test.

 

PRESENTER:

Dr. David Miller has been teaching in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at PSU since 2011. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 2000, his Master of Science in Bioengineering from Arizona State University in 2002, and his Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 2008.

In 2015, he earned his Private Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In 2016 he added an Instrument rating, and earned his Remote Pilot certification. He has taught an undergraduate course to PSU students to prepare them to earn their Remote Pilot certification
