WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

  • This workshop will give educators all of the tools necessary to teach an entire course in basic photography.
  • The presenter will provide the knowledge necessary to teach a basic photography course. This includes a Creative Commons Attribution licensed course with all resources (PowerPoints, Assignments, Rubrics, and Auxiliary Learning resources such as videos and links).
  • In addition to the entire course, participants will learn from the presenter how to implement the resources. Participants may use any/all of the resources given to them in their classroom. Even participants with little to no photographic knowledge.

 

PRESENTER:

Rion Huffman is a professional portrait and wedding photographer turned teacher. He owned a portrait business for 7 years and began teaching photography and graphic design in 2012.

Rion teaches technical photography courses at Pittsburg State University including Portrait, Product and Commercial photography. He has won multiple awards for his photography and has had multiple images shown in national galleries. He is active in KelbyOne, University and College Designers Association, Society for Photographic Education, Graphic Communication Education Association and local chapters of the Professional Photographers of America.
